Arlin Graff is a lover of abstraction. The Brazilian artist who is based in São Paulo produces work that mimics digital art. His artistic inspiration is drawn from his childhood memories. One of his oldest recollections is spending time in his family’s shed and interacting with animals. This is now reflected in his urban murals.
Graff travels the world, leaving his unique pieces in outdoor spaces which often appear to be ripped from a mystical jungle filled with animals. The places that he paints are city based locations where nature is sparse however he still manages to refer to nature within his work.
About his work
His work transforms the side of buildings into metaphorical nature sanctuaries. Taking his spray cans in varieties of colours, he creates oversized bears and animals whose faces and bodies deconstruct into millions of chroma particles.
Through his art, he aims to communicate to his viewers how important nature is. He often paints larger versions of small animals such as birds to “create a change in position and make people think about how small we and how we should respect nature that unfortunately, we as humans have been neglecting”
